This was my first trip to Clover Bay. My father has been fishing at Clover Bay Floating Fish Lodge every year for over 20 years and decided to let me in on the best kept secret in Alaska. He discovered it in the 80's when he was looking for the perfect place to take his father and has gone every year since. I had no idea what to expect and had one of the best experiences of my life.
We flew into Alaska at lunch time, cought a float plane with in an hour and by 2pm we were at the lodge. NO TV, Radio or Phone - It was like heaven! By 3pm we were on the water fishing and by 5pm we had cought multiple King Salmon and Bottom Fish.
A typical day for me at Clover Bay was getting up by 4am and on the water with in 30 minutes with a thermos of coffee and cookies. Catch fish until 7am when we would come in for breakfast. Head back out and fish until lunch then back in for a meal. Back out we went until 4 or 5pm and in for dinner. Then out again we went until dark!!! PERFECT!!!
The staff was always there to greet us upon our return, clean our fish, vacume pack and flash freeze for us and make sure we had bait and tackle. Meals were FANTASTIC!!! Seafood Lovers Dream Come True!
This was truly an experience I will never forget!

I just wanted to thank you for letting me in on the Clover Bay Trip in July. It was REALLY FUN!. Please keep me informed about future trips next summer. I'd very much like to do it again!

From the moment I stepped off the sea plane onto the floating lodge at Clover bay, I knew this was exactly the place I had been looking for. After years of hearing fishing stories from my Dad ("200lb Halibut, 40lb King Salmon"), it was finally my time to see if I could rise to the challenge of fishing in Alaska without a guide (and to see if his stories were true). I found that these stories were actually true, not to mention the sense of accomplishment, being able to do all this without a guide. I will be coming back to Clover bay for my tenth year this spring.

All my life I have tried to hook that elusive salmon, and for me that day came last year in the month of June surrounded by the beauty and wildlife that can only be found in Alaska. Not only was that a special day for me but the entire week was just as special! Thanks to the owners and staff at the Clover Bay Floating Lodge where they provide comfortable lodging, homed cooked meals and all the fun that goes along with a great Alaska fishing adventure.
I recommend to any one who is looking to catch their 1 st or 101 st salmon, halibut or any other underwater delight to give the great folks at Clover Bay lodge a call you won't be disappointed!
